Do lowes employees work on commission?

Lowes eliminates commissions on cabinets and appliances . They no longer pay any type of sales bonus to their Appliance or Cabinet associates. Accordingly, why did Lowes stop paying commission? We were hired for our knowledge and experience. Vendors paid the commission not Lowe’s.

Many Lowe’s sales specialists who joined the company before 2011 will likely be facing a cut to their annual pay starting on Saturday, February 1. Earlier this year, Lowe’s sent out notices to its sales specialists — employees with a specialized knowledge of a certain department who are tasked with closing deals — announcing the cut.

This of course begs the inquiry “What is it like to work at Lowes?”

Lowes Corporate will ruin the individual Lowes stores. EVERYTHING is being dictated by some corporate dictate including all individual hours. The constant varying shift times and non-consecutive days off are terrible for quality of life. The corporate offices care only about money, making for many unhappy employees.

Customer’s are outright calling you out for Lowe’s making record profits yet also making cuts absolutely anywhere upper management can (especially installers & store staff). Monthly/weekly bonus are downright laughable at best .

Do Lowe’s sales specialists make big bucks?

For some specialists — especially those working in the lucrative appliances department, according to former Lowe’s employee Patricia Wilkerson — product expertise and sales skills could translate into big bucks before 2012. Back then, sales specialists were elgible for spiffs, or an immediate sales bonus, and commission.

That sales specialist would be rewarded with a spiff of around $15 to $25. According to an internal Lowe’s document from February 13, 2012, about half of those spiffs and commissions were paid by the company, with the other half being fronted by the product’s manufacturer.

You may be wondering “What happens to allowances for sales specialists at Lowe’s?”

Allowances could be lost if a specialist was promoted to a salaried role or transferred to a job in distribution, a customer service call center, or a Lowe’s affiliate. Otherwise, affected sales specialists who were employed at Lowe’s as of 2011 have been entitled to that allowance in the years since.

What services does Lowe’s offer?

The company only offers repairs and services to store-bought appliances, but with over 10 brands supported and an ample list of premium protection plan benefits, customers can confide in Lowe’s ability to offer the services they need.

Lowe’s does not offer home improvement or home maintenance features unless covered by their appliance protection plan.

A frequent inquiry we ran across in our research was “Does Lowe’s have a replacement plan for appliances?”.

Lowe’s also offers a replacement plan, but is only eligible for products that retail for less than $300, after all discounts have been applied. This excludes major appliances and water heaters.

Lowes does not mention a satisfaction guarantee on their repair services, but it typically offers a 30 day return policy on appliance purchases, and free functioning parts and labor coverage on appliances as long as the problem is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty or their protection program.
