I think the scars are either the result of Endeavor pushing Dabi too hard and making him over-use his quirk (without an ice side to help him cool off), or of Dabi himself trying to sear off his father’s identity.

While I was reading we ran into the inquiry “What are Dabi’s scars made of?”.
Dabi’s scars are burns, injuries caused by dry heat. Edit 2: After EVEN MORE research, I have realized something. The purple we see on Dabi’s body is not the burns Touya sustained, but are merely covering them. Burns don’t have straight, smooth edges like we see, but jagged, messy ones.
Here is what I discovered. those aren’t his actual burns. The purple and staples are just covering up the real ones, maybe because of how severe they are. He got his burns from burning over 2,000 degrees celsius that might be why dabi’s burns are like that The intensity of the wound (Or whatever gave the person a scar) indicates the color of it.

How would you describe the appearance of Dabi?
Dabi is a fairly tall, pale young man of a slim, somewhat-lanky build, described to be in his early twenties. He has white hair with a few red streaks at the crown that spikes upward around his head, hanging low over his eyes, which are thin, turquoise in color, and heavily lidded. Before the reveal of his true identity, his hair was dyed black.
