Overall, these Duralast rotors and brake pads are outstanding : rotors smooth like a baby and pads are absolutely amazing, no squealing noise whatsoever. The price can’t be beat. (BTW, stay away from the cheap “Valucraft” = junk, stick to Duralast ). I am kind of sold on Autozone rotors/pads based on my experience with my Honda van.

I think the 100% new ones that they carry are good . The one for my 87 s10 (cs130 alt) came with larger bearings and more cooling built into the case. It is going strong about 4 years later. Another vote for local re-builder.
The guy at autozone tested the alternator first and the stated that my alternator was only pushing out 24 AMP’s and that I was running completely off the battery. He checked to see if they carried one but since it was a newer vehicle, nothing was listed.

My best answer was belts, pulleys, etc. are all good. Sounds like brushes. Try it for 10 bucks. What the heck. Get the alternator rebuilt and recharge the battery . Clean all the grounds and replace the ones with any corrosion. Check the battery positive cable and the alt to fuse box cables in the same manner.
