Not all service centers offer nitrogen inflation, but Discount Tire & Service, Inc. does. We are a nitrogen tire fill location with the proper equipment to inflate and top off your tires with nitrogen .
Used-car dealers may also have the capacity to fill tires with nitrogen , and they may or may not charge a fee to do so. Some discount superstores with automotive centers have nitrogen for tires. Again, they may sell the tires and fill and refill with nitrogen for free, or they may fill a used tire for a fee.
This of course begs the question “Does nitrogen reduce tire pressure loss?”
The results show that nitrogen does reduce pressure loss , but the reduction was only a 1.3 psi difference from air-filled tires over an entire year. “Our test showed that while nitrogen has some advantages, both nitrogen and air-filled tires lose pressure over time,” Pszczolkowski says.
Nitrogen molecules are typically larger than normal air molecules, which means the air does not leak out as easily from your tires. A tired filled with nitrogen maintains its air pressure longer than regular air-filled tires. A normal tire with regular air loses approximately one to two pounds per square inch per month.
On the other hand, nitrogen has to be bought in, and many dealers and service centers will charge you to top up your tires. This can be anywhere from $5 to $10 per tire, so ask before dragging out the hose! There’s no doubt that nitrogen is invaluable for specialized environments but is it worth it for your car?

A frequent query we ran across in our research was “Can discount tire fix a vibrating tire?”.
Do note that Discount Tire does not offer alignment, brake or suspension repair. Old motor mounts can cause vibrations and rattling, too, but they don’t typically shake your ride the same way an unbalanced tire can. A vehicle generally vibrates from an unbalanced tire at speeds greater than 45 mph.
Will discount tire install tpms?
Well, Discount tire has TPMS sensors that they sell that indeed work with the JL. You just have to get the right ones and that is the issue. Repeatedly, we get forum posts with guys/gals stating they are having major issues with newly installed TPMS sensors With that said, have Discount Tire use the TPMS sensors that came with your JL .
Either keep your tpms or buy mopar ones for the new wheels . If you buy mopar ones youll likely need the dealership service dept to program them. I worked at a dealership, and was in charge of the mod program. We had more headaches with aftermarket tpms than anything else. At the time (june) our 3rd party off road shop couldnt program the JL TPMS.
Does discount tire fix bent rims?
While bent rims generally need to be fixed at a dedicated wheel repair shop, Discount Tire locations are sometimes able to use a special tool to pull the bent rims back into shape on some steel wheels. Unfortunately, other materials like aluminum (typically used to manufacture OEM and aftermarket wheels) aren’t sturdy enough for this service.
Another common query is “Why is my rim bent on my tire?”.
There is also a possibility that you’ve got a flat tire, an alignment issue, a damaged wheel, or another tire service need. So how do you know if your rim is bent?
Another common inquiry is “Can a bent rim be repaired?”.
I found the answer is if you have alloy wheels, there is typically no way to repair a bent rim. Even minor bends can crack if you try to repair them , so it’s usually a good idea to just buy a replacement wheel.
How much does it cost to replace TPMS sensor?
I had a $12/hr tire tech break one of my TPMS sensors just last week. Luckily it was at the quick service place at the dealer where I bought the vehicle, so they replaced the sensor for free . If it was Discount Tire, they would have charged me for breaking it.
