Earlier this summer, Subway discontinued its roast beef sandwich, much to the chagrin of red meat lovers. Rotisserie chicken was a healthy-ish, fresh option at Subway, and it was great for topping salads. Some more items to keep in mind: 4 ciabatta collection, 5 subway club, and 3 pizza.
Hint: Chicken is no longer in rotation. Where’s the (roast) beef? Gone from Subway’s lineup, along with rotisserie-style chicken.
One frequent answer is, though Subway corporate disclosed no further details to Business Insider, a franchisee did admit that the reason behind the ingredients’ discontinuation in June, which was a top-down order, was that “they were the two most expensive proteins that we have on the menu.”.
