Are kroger brand marshmallows gluten-free?

If you shop at Kroger grocery stores (King Soopers, Fred Meyer, Ralph’s and Smith’s, etc.), you may be wondering if the Kroger store-brand marshmallows are gluten free. The packaging does not include a “gluten-free” label, however, the ingredient list (corn syrup, sugar, water, modified corn starch, gelatin, natural and artificial flavor, tetrasodium pyrophosphate, blue 1) does not appear to contain gluten.

The company Doumak’s marshmallows are all gluten free. Doumak makes marshmallows for private store brands, including Walmart’s store brand and CVS Brand. Marshmallow Peeps, made by Just Born, are also usually gluten free, but make sure the packaging says “gluten free” on it so you know it’s safe to eat.

Kroger does have some gluten-free shelf tags (a little brown box on the white tag) but half the gluten-free items don’t have them. Since Kroger stores can differ a lot from one to another, many things on the list aren’t going to be in the store, unless you have one of those super krogers.

When I was reading we ran into the question “Are Jet Puffed marshmallows gluten-free?”.

Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallows are also usually gluten-free. But, according to a Kraft company consumer helpline representative, some of their products — such as marshmallows — have a 50 percent chance of containing natural flavorings sourced from suppliers who use grains with gluten.

When we were reading we ran into the query “What brands of marshmallows have cross-contamination ingredients?”.

Brands that might have cross-contamination ingredients include some flavors of Peeps, a holiday-themed marshmallow, manufactured by Just Born. Peeps are made with corn starch, which doesn’t contain gluten. However, some varieties may be made in factories that also produce gluten-containing products.

Does Kroger sell TLC onions?

Kroger is among the retailers to receive these onions along with restaurants. The onions were distributed in various cartons and mesh sacks with the brand names Thomson Premium, TLC Thomson International, Tender Loving Care, El Competitor, Hartley’s Best, Onions 52, Majestic, Imperial Fresh, Kroger, Utah Onions and Food Lion.

This of course begs the inquiry “What stores sell Thomson onions?”

This is what I discovered. business Insider reveals that Thomson onions are sold at Kroger, Walmart, and Food Lion stores under a number of different brand names, but the FDA recommends throwing out any onions, or onion-containing food items unless you are absolutely sure that the onions are not Thomson-produced.

Are kroger onions safe?

Reason: Product ingredient contains ONIONS and may be contaminated with SALMONELLA, and if eaten could result in severe illness to those individuals who may consume the product.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) – Onions shipped nationwide and to Kroger stores are being recalled because of possible Salmonella contamination. Red, yellow, white and sweet yellow onions shipped from May 1 till now are being recalled by Thomson International Inc, the company says.

Onions have been linked a major salmonella outbreak in 37 states. While there is no official recall yet, you’ll want to throw away any onions that you’re unsure about.

Another popular inquiry is “Are ProSource onions safe to eat?”.

While the CDC has not activated an official recall, consumers should still act: Look for stickers on your onions that say Pro. Source Inc. and/or Mexico. If you can’t tell where your onions came from then throw them out. Cooking these onions won’t make them safe to eat.
