Each month is a separate earning period for Safeway/Albertsons Rewards. All points will expire at the end of the following month.
While we were writing we ran into the query “When do gas reward points expire?”.
Gas Reward Points earned by paying with Fast Forward expire based on the same rules as the current Safeway Gas Reward Points Program. Points less than 100 expire at the end of the calendar month in which they were earned (for example, in January, points less than 100 expire on Jan. 31.).
Can I use my Safeway rewards points for gas?
The new rewards program allows you to earn reward points to use towards free groceries and cash discounts. You can still use the rewards points for savings on gas, but if you do not have a Safeway fuel center nearby, then the grocery rewards program will be a better option for you to shop and save at Safeway.
On their website, go to the “Safeway for U” tab and then “Rewards” on the left. You can see how many points you’ve earned towards your next Reward (100 points). On their website, look to the right of where it tells you the number of Rewards you have.
Safeway offers bonus fuel points like 2x gas rewards points and 4x gas rewards points as special promotions throughout the year when you purchase participating products or gift cards. You’ll find out all about the special bonus points here on Super-Safeway.
You might be wondering “How do I earn Safeway reward points?”
Safeway Reward Points are easy to earn by purchasing qualifying groceries, gift cards, and pharmacy items with a Safeway Club Card, and are easy to redeem at participating Safeway fuel centers. For every 100 points earned by shopping at Safeway with a Safeway Club Card, shoppers get a 10 cent per gallon reward.
How do I redeem my Safeway Club rewards?
Customers redeem their Rewards by simply swiping their Safeway Club Card, or by entering their phone number at the pump before fueling up. Points are earned based on whole dollars spent on eligible purchases (for example, spend $5.25 and earn 5 points).
This of course begs the question “How does Safeway grocery rewards program work?”
$1 = 1 point, so for every $100, you get 100 points, which = 1 Grocery Reward. There are also times when Safeway has 2x and 4x rewards points promotions and offers, so it’s easy for the points to accumulate quickly! Be sure to check your Just for U account under Rewards for your personal rewards.
