Other popular chains like Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Taco Bell, and Subway also outrank Sonic when it comes to sales and revenue. One of the reasons Sonic lags behind its competition is because it simply doesn’t have as many store locations as some of the other big names. According to the company, the weather is to blame for that. You heard that right.
Sega ’s favourite mascot Sonic the Hedgehog is in the news again. Earlier this year, the blue speedster with the red sneakers caused an uproar when the trailer for his live-action film was released. Fans weren’t impressed with what they saw and the character’s design became the target of many memes.
Why is the sonic fandom so bad?
It isn’t really one reason why it has a bad reputation, it is a combination of things and perceptions . A common perception is that Sonic fans are ones that do fan art of dodgy poses, fan characters including recolours of dubious quality, fan fiction and the focus is on the shipping.

Look , it’s unlikely that Sonic will ever beat Mario in a popularity contest now, but it would be nice to see this rivalry reignited for a new generation of fans.
How accurate is the Sonic Movie compared to the games?
No character in the film (other than Sonic) looks more accurate than Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik by the end, and he gives the most over the top performance by far. Given that the original story of the games didn’t have the necessity to follow the same narrative thread that a movie would, it’s almost impossible to fully, accurately adapt the story.
