It is not recommended that you use the Jetpack as a replacement for your home internet service. With a jetpack, all data used would deduct for your plan allowance.
I personally would not recommend replacing your home internet with a jetpack or Mi-Fi unless you do not plan to use it often. The Unlimited Data plans come with speed adjustments after using 15GB per billing cycle.
Some articles claimed yes, your Jetpack can be your network’s router., web Services will not work through Verizon Wireless, because Verizon’s internal NAT firewall blocks unsolicited inbound connections. However, all computers on your LAN should be able to use the printer as a normal [wireless Wi-Fi] printer.
Can I use jetpack/hotspot with my home router?
However you need to have a home router that can facilitate a wireless bridging feature to proceed. If not then some times you can download and install custom firmware on your home router to unlock such a feature. Without wireless bridging there is no convenient way to get the Jetpack/Hotspot and the home router to talk to each other.
Is the jetpack always on the Internet?
The Jetpack wasn’t really designed to be an always on Internet device. It is meant to be used as a short term access point. Verizon Wireless has a different device which can be used as a primary unit.
