Just leave the phone set to Global mode . This picks the best network, whether it be Verizon or a roaming partner based upon the signal availble. LTE / GSM / UMTS would not work with Verizon all too well as this disables all CDMA support. It would work fine if you had a T-Mobile or AT&T SIM installed to your phone, though ๐.
What network mode should I use verizon?
The global mode by Verizon is the most preferred setting that helps you easily connect with the GSM network when you are traveling outside of the United States. The global mode typically turns on when you are traveling outside of the U. S.; however, you can keep it on even when you are within the country and facing issues when running on CDMA/LTE.
How do I change the network mode on my Device?
Tap Network mode. This is the preferred setting for most locations and should only be changed if experiencing service issues . This setting should only be selected if experiencing service issues in locations that offer multiple network types and only LTE/CDMA is needed.
The next thing we asked ourselves was: how do I change the network mode on my Android phone?
Tap More networks. Tap Mobile networks. Tap Network mode. Tap LTE/GSM/WCDMA (auto connect), GSM/WCDMA (auto connect), GSM only or WCDMA only. 3G (UMTS) or 4G (LTE) enables you to achieve higher data speeds than when using 2G (GSM).
Does Verizon run on CDMA or global settings?
Seems like default setting is global , but Verizon runs on cdma. Anyone have any input on which is preferred? Go to Solution.
The most frequent answer is, that would be the only way Verizon would be using GSM . It shows extended Network. Verizon suggests setting to to Global unless you are having problems. Oh they do cause on FB Verizon told me to put it on LTE unless I am traveling international but now I guess i’ll put it back to Global.
The next thing we asked ourselves was, why did you switch from Verizon to global?
Global allows for roaming on GSM networks. I was on Verizon for about a month and had it on LTE\CDMA and the phone prompted me to switch to Global for better service . Come to find out, the LTE\CDMA coverage was spotty in that area so the phone was using GSM.
It is set to global. Per Verizon wireless they use cmda .when I put the sim card in it did some Ota updates or something. I haven’t had any problems yet.
