The plastic waste generated by the store, be it bags put into recycling, or from product packaging, gets put into a special bale, where the plastic get pressed into a large cube that fits on a pallet. Then it’s shipped off to be recycled. Walmart gets paid for the plastic based on weight in order to recoup some costs of operations.
